Flight Cage

I posted a picture of my flight cage to the gallery. It was fun to make with PVC pipe and wire mesh. Fairly easy once we figured out the corners.
I also have a roll of brown kraft paper underneath that slides through the bottom of the cage. I can pull out a new section and they have clean paper. Only have to go in every few weeks and do a thorough scrub.
I haven't put the roll on a spindle yet. It would be easier to pull through with that.

My button quail seems very happy to jump into a box I hung on the side for him so I am thinking I will expand on that theme.

My next project is to make a quail/finch castle. I am looking for some Coroplast. Boy is it expensive!

I really like your idea of the craft paper that can be pulled through!

What size is your flight? I too really like the idea of the pull-thru paper. How did you work out the corners?

The cage is 6' long, 2' deep and 4' high. I get 2' wide rolls of paper and the edges tend to come through the slot OK. Once in a while they rip slightly. I am thinking of trying a heavier stock paper and see if that makes it worse or better. Still a project in work but it saves me a lot of worry already.

They do too! They gather in it like its a bush and just mutter and murmur while dancing around in there.
