A sunny morning

Woke up this morning to sunshine..for a change. This has been the lousiest summer I can ever remember.
So I got the power saw into the yard and knocked up a couple of cages...only took three hours.I've no specific use for them as yet...but if my gouldians keep raising young 'uns successfully I think I'll bring them indoors for the winter. They survived below freezing temperatures last year...but I would prefer them to moult in higher temperatures.
I'm not bothering with waste trays in future..just hemp based floor chippings.Divider in,birds up one end, clean the other...it's no trouble to clean out and vacuum the corners.I've always found I have to even with floor trays..seed and clutter always gets down the sides of the trays anyway.
These are budgerigar fronts on these...larger doors give easy access..the fronts do remove anyway if I need them to.
In inches they're 48x20x20

It's only a case of sketching it out in advance and cutting everything to size...sandpaper,screws and panel pins and that's it.I might paint inside with a light coloured water based emulsion...at least that's one job I can do indoors... :D

It looks great as is, can't wait to see the finished product. It must be nice to be able to all this yourself, then to see your work filled with finches!

Nice :D Those cage fronts are so handy for so many applications. I like the no drawer feature...I agree, you still have to pull out the vacuum... with the higher solid sides will keep the mess contained until you decide to remove. If you don't paint, will you seal the wood somehow?
Great size and of course...love the divider.... Wish you were here...I'd hire you for a spell, would even pay and feed you good.

When you`re through at Candace`s head on over here to the great white North. =D> =D> =D>
Not so white this time of the year, and North #-o Over 100F plus humidity the last few days
