PRIVACY (Stress) Perch

I just bought one and it's fantastic. I tried to make one myself, but ... . I got this one from Terri's Glamorous Gouldians for $22.50 and it's wonderful. I just ordered two more. The birds love it, especially the Fires and the Strawberries. There are 5 cubby holes for the birds to perch. Needless to say, I installed it wrong, with the long end front-to-back instead of top to bottom. They love it anyway. I'm going to try and add a picture. Please excuse the 'poops'.

Do you know if that store does international shipping, cause they are imposible to find in sweden.

Nice, stress perches are great for aviaries, especially mixed. Sometimes birds just like that extra space and privacy... don't we all
I love these from ABBA... you just keep adding compartments until you have enough. I never have enough
They are also plastic so easy to clean and sanitize

I have wanted one of these for some time now. My husband is working on making me one now (since he isn't able to drive and work at the moment due to eye problems) . I have a long aviary "honey-do" list for him.
I was thinking of making one really long one with about ten perches...
I am glad to know they like it.

Donna, they will love it. At first they don't seem to know what to make of it. Then you'll have one brave little one fly in, next thing you know, it's one of their favorite spots. It's supposed to be for one bird in each perch, but as you can see, they like their buddy with them sometimes. :wink
You have such a beautiful aviary, you'll have to show us when you get them up.

I had some in my community cage.
My birds did not use it during the day, but at night, each bird wants its own stall/private bedroom. The birds will poke at the other birds to get them to leave "his" bedroom. I finally had to take most of them down, because I did not have enough space for each bird to have its own stall.

Candace, the ones ABBA has look very neat. The plastic would be easy to sanitize and, that you can add on, is a plus. I have been looking for these for ages. I can't seem to find a price on the ABBA ones... or where to purchase them. If you could supply that info. would be great.

The birds look so cute in the stalls! I ought to make a similar hideaway for my bird.

Sorry to interrupt with an off topic question. In the picture with two yellow birds (red beaks) in the middle, is it ok when birds are squatting like that? I am taking advantage of a picture here and finch experts on this forum. I have seen my green singer sit like that during the day, his legs hardly visible, then a bit later he stands up to fly and seems fine. I was worried he's feeling unwell.

I assume the birds in this picture are healthy. Does that mean this fluffy-ish squatting is just relaxation?

They are resting. If they stay 'fluffed up' all the time, then I would worry.

I too would love to find a retailer for the plastic Abba perch. I'd love to put a looong one (or two) in my double flights. I checked Bird Supply of New Hampshire but couldn't find it on their site.

I don't think Abba sells from their own site - I think they have distributors across the USA, but I'm not sure. That's probably why they don't have pricing.

You cant get hold of any kind of stress perches here... I checked the wooden one out, but the shipping was 65 US dollars
I think I have to start an online shop here in sweden with all those neat things you guys have abroad some times I hate living in a small country, theres just not enough people in this country to make it worth for the companies to carry stuff like this
You have to build everything you want, kind of tired of that

Anyway those perches are really neat, I bet they reduce a lot of stress and fuzz in the cage...

LOL - for Societies, anything less than half a dozen birds equals privacy. Can you just imagine them trying to stack themselves up in one of these???
