Is that ok for 12 finches?

I'm going tomorrow morning to a craftsman to have him build a custom cage.

I decided that 12-15 inches should be my limit. Even though I can afford and would love to have a large aviary, it's not possible cause unfortunately I'm limited with space and the biggest I can have is:

55" width x 40" depth x 35" height

Would that be enough for 12-15 finches?

I know they require more width than height but if it's wider than 55" there'll be no spot for it. :x

edit: I meant height is 35", with the stand it's 75".

Is this a breeding or non-breeding flight? And what types of finches?

Non breeding,if I ever decided to breed a pair then I'll use my extra flight cages.

I currently have 6 zebras and for the future I'm thinking of adding goldians, owls, or shaftails. I haven't checked yet if they'd be ok together though.

its a little tight but should be ok as long as you are not intent on breeding as you could have real problems!they will of course be mating!if you are having male and female of the same species in the cage but you will just have to throw the eggs out as they may decide to nest in seed pots or in the substrate ..then you will get arguments!

Yes, definitely no breeding in there.

Besides, I may end up not having more than 6 or 8.

It's just that if I come across a goldian/owl/shaftail, it'll be impossible for me to walk out without buying a pair and I wanted to make sure there'll be enough room for them if that ever happens. :)
