Has anybody built an aviary that is both indoor and outdoor with a connecting passage through the wall? How would the birds health be compremized with such a setup in an Ohio location?

Wow - cool idea! I don't have the space to try it, but would love to hear how yours works. Kenny's aviary might be laid out a little like that, with both indoor and outdoor access. I'd say as long as they can get inside in bad weather and you either can close the door/window or provide adequate heat inside you should be fine.

And if you build it, post pictures. I absolutely love to see other people's set-ups.

hi shuttle bird
my aviary is made just as you describe the amin area is for free flying but if any of the birds decide to go inside to keep warm they can do so as the inside is set up exactly the same as the aviary seed in the same hoppers and water in the same holders so they dont notice the change this is where they go to the inside from the aviary
