Hello!
I am an artist/photographer and bird lover! I currently teach photography at Harvard University. I want to do a project collaborating with weaver finches or other domestic nesting birds. I guess my question is... Will this work? Do finches nest in cages or aviaries? If so what kind of materials do they like to use? What should I give them to nest with? What are the most ideal conditions for the finches to nest in captivity? Please let me know if you have any advice.
Thank you!
Robert

Re: Will Finches Nest in Captivity?
My lavendars created their own nest within a bamboo tube nest. lots of coco fiber was used to create a long funnel with a small opening for an entrance.
St Helena build out their nest complete with a nest on top for the male to sleep in.
I give them long coco fibers, cut in half and Timothy hay.
