Peek into my aviary

Post by flyinverted » Tue Oct 11, 2011 9:32 pm

Just a quick video of my aviary to test a camera.

This was shot in HD, so be sure to switch to the 1080p version.

HD really shows that bird poo. Time for a cleaning!

Thanks!

The aviary is 5 1/2 wide by 5 deep and 6 tall.

Here's a photo.

I painted the wire mesh black after I stapled it to the frame. I wish I had painted it first. There are 2 food dishes and 2 water dishes that rotate to the outside for easy access. The trap is 2x2. I used a roll up bamboo window shade for the trap. I hot glued it to the upper 2x3 and then cut the string portion of the shade away. There are now 7 or so nest boxes inside not shown here. This was a simple build with 2x3's, some Thompson's water seal/stain and wire mesh.

That looks great! I enjoyed the video. How did you use the bamboo shade as the catch. I couldn't tell from the picture.
