I have a separate bird room where two parrots ( african Grey and Orange winged amazon) live for many year. Couple days ago I bought the pair of star finches. Is ik ok to place the cage with finches into bird room? Amazon can be quite noisy...

I would keep the Star finches in a separate room for about a month, just for quarantine purposes. I don't know if various bird diseases can be transmitted between finches and parrots, but your parrots must be a considerable investment, so I wouldn't take a chance. Once the month is up, I don't see any reason not to at least try it. If your Stars seem to be upset by the noise, you can always move the Star cage out again. Maybe your parrots will learn the Star song! I have Star finches, and I just love them. They are so pretty, plus they are very inquisitive and entertaining little birds.

I personally would not put parrots and finches in the same room. You could end up with feet torn off, or parrots letting the finches out and then chasing them... Finches are more of a watching type of bird.

I never thought about the parrots being loose! Then yes, I would keep the finch cage out of the same room. I have lost finches by cats catching them when they (apparently) were close to the bars, so parrots could get them the same way.

Not to mention how smart parrots are... Our Severe Macaw know's how to unlatch his cage (we lock him in when we need too now), and it wouldn't take long for them to figure out how to unlach a finch cage...
