Does Anybody Have This Cage? I Need Advice Please...

I am considering the purchase of this cage....(possibly two) as it looks like a nice cage system and they are on sale.

I have a bad case of Finch Fever and I can clearly see that 2 little Zebras won't satisfy me (just like 2 pieces of chocolate are never enough!) and want to buy a bigger cage for more Finches...
Here are my questions please:
1. Do you have this cage..and if so how many birds do you house in it?
2. Does it knock down?...it didn't say anything in the ad.
3. Is this a good company to buy from?
Thanks for any help!

I was looking at a cage like that yesterday! I don't know anything about them, but I was considering something like that in the future, when I'm not in such a small apartment. That seems like a great deal since there is free shipping.

I just bought this cage used, and I LOVE it! If you use the grate, you can easily slide it out for cleaning. The lady I got it from did not use the grate, she put the grate underneath the tray, and that is how I am using it. If you have very small finches, like Goldbreasts, and don't use the grate, you would have to rig up something, as it does leave a gap in the front, or just use the grate. It is in my bird room for now, but if I wanted to use it in the house, it would look just fine. And it has casters, so you can easily move it around or move it to vacuum. I use the seed hoppers that TammyS sells--that will cut down on the mess. I love this cage so much I am probably going to buy the double flight cage.
It comes disassembled, so I'm sure it could be disassembled again if needed, to move or store. I have not purchased from this company, nor from this other company that I will list, that has the same cage for $118, including shipping:

The number of finches in it would depend on the species, sex, etc. I put my 5 Gouldians in it and set them up with nestboxes, just to see what happened. In one day, they already started checking out the nestboxes, so if they want to breed and can get along, fine with me.
It really isn't a huge difference between the cage I had them in, which was 30l x 18d x 36h, versus 32l x 21d x 36h, yet it seems like a lot. The added depth lets you have nests in there if you want, still leaving flight room, OR it comes with two nestbox doors on the sides, so you could use a box-type nestbox and not take up any room inside at all.

I have the double version of that cage. I love it. I only have 8 birds in mine, but I know there is someone who used to post here (I can't remember who!) who had 13 birds in the single cage you linked to.
I put the tray up on top of the grate, too - I actually don't have much gap there at all - I just make sure the edges of the tray are resting on the sliders where the grate is supposed to go, and it snugs right up to the cage bottom.
You can't go wrong with that cage, or the double one listed here:

If it helps, I actually bought my cage from qualitydiscountcages.com, too - great shipping, great packaging, great cage.

I have the double flight cage with 8 finches in it. There is plenty of room for 4 bamboo nests, branches, perches, swings and toys, a 10" plastic saucer for the bird bath, 2 cuttle bones, three water pipes and 6 food dishes and millet. Sounds like it might be crowded, it's not. They have plenty of room to fly back and forth without even landing. The three branches are placed in a way so not to block them from flying from one end to the other. Although I love this cage, I plan to build an aviary asap. We plan one having more birds in the future. Good luck!

Thanks so much for the great advice on that cage....I sounds like that is a popular model and is well liked! Now I just have to decide if I should get the single or double...as I have some space issues right now....hmmmm.
The dilemma is we will be building a new retirement home in about a year and I don't know yet if I will get an extra bird room. Then I could get the double. I am using the argument with Hubby that if he can build a huge shed for all his junk then I should be able to get one little birdie room...right?
Maybe SantaBird can help me out....

Thanks for the hint, Steve. I had tried to slide the tray in on those sliders, and it didn't seem to fit. Now I realize that it is such a good fit that it has to be absolutely straight when putting it in, or it will jam. Now it is right up at the cage bottom with no gap whatsoever. I plan to put some of my odd (no mate) waxbills in the double, so they won't be able to slip out.

I have this cage, bought from same company.
I love it! I currently have two society finches, along with a true pair of star finches.
They all get along great, plenty of room for them all.
I originally wanted the double, but didn't have room for the size. The single is perfect for my home. I got it in white. All my friends love it, it is a great conservation piece, everyone loves birds.
Good luck!

I have the double one of this too and love it (as do my birds). I have five finches and a canary in it. The only trouble with the longer double version is getting it around tight corners/through doorways with the stand on. If you have a nice sliding glass door you could easily wheel it in and outside if you wanted your birdies to have a little fresh air.
It's a very handsome quality cage and easy to clean.

I have the single and double purchased from the same website. It was fast shipping, and it really is a great quality cage... very sturdy, etc...
In my single I have 4 finches, and they have plenty of room!
