avairy white on walls again

Has anybody tried whitewashing avairy walls with a builders lime mixed with water to make a paint kind a thing, a pigeon fancier told me that he used to put it on his shed walls, and it is less toxic than paint. what paint would anyone recomend to paint with. Thanks, Gaz.

Some here have recommended using the paint that is safe for children. I don't know the brand, but you could do a search and read the thread on painting with finches.
