Trying to decide a housing quandary

I am building two 80" flights that will be stacked on one another. They will be 36" deep and 30" tall.

I have a pair of Diamond Firetails. Should I split one down the middle into two 40" flights and have one pair of Diamonds in one side?
Or keep it 80" and put another pair of birds in with them so they have a lot more flight room? If so, which species would you put in there with them?

Thx for the input!

You could do what I am doing- make each 80" flight dividable. In my case, at the center of the flight, I used two 2x2s, spaced only about 1/2" apart, so that I can slide a divider in, to make two 40" flights on each level.
You can see my construction thread here: http://www.finchforum.com/viewtopic.php ... ge+project

I'd go for the length for flight, but I like the idea of having a choice if it's possible.

3 feet deep seems hard to reach, clean and catch birds.

I am making doors in the front, side and rear. I learned that lesson.

What I really want to do is put them in a big flight with another pair. Just can't decide with whom and if it's a smart move.

Either javas or.melbas, but I don't think you have those? I have heard of them doing good with.fires, and cordons may be able to hold their own
