Wayfair.com - Issues with Breeding Cages

Hello All,

Just wanted to warn you, if anyone decides to purchase a bird cage/aviary off of Wayfair.com, ensure you question what you are buying, before you buy.

Several weeks ago, I purchased a lot of 6 small YML Bird Breeding Cages, for $264 US. The item shipped to me in 2 weeks. When I received the item, I noticed the stand for these cages was missing in my package. The advertisement stated the cages came with a 4 tier stand. I emailed the company, and told them the stand was missing. They responded by telling me they would ship a replacement stand right away.
I was then contacted again, and told that I would not be sent a replacement stand, because the item I purchased did not include a stand (even though it was advertised this way...)
I emailed the company back, and told them this was unacceptable, and that they were using false advertising to sell products. Then they offered me a 10% discount to keep the product or I could send the item back (which would cost a fortune from Canada!).
I called them and complained, they checked into the stand, and said that the manufacturer no longer has any stock on this item, and they're unable to order more.
So, as a resolution to the problem, Wayfair gave me a FULL refund for the product I purchased, and let me keep the cages as a bonus! So I got 6 breeding cages for free. Talk about a bonus!

Wow, it sounds like they made an innocent mistake, and more than made good on it.

I agree - I am happy they went way above and beyond to make sure in the end you were satisfied - that is still good customer service at the end of the day :)

I agree! I was a little stunned when the customer service rep came back on the phone, after putting me on hold, and told me they'd rather just give me the cages, than pay to have them shipped back. Apparently the shipping through customs was worth more than having the cages returned!

So, tonight I went and set them all up, and moved some of my breeding pairs of zebras into them. While I was at Petsmart I also found a fawn black cheek male zebra, and paired him with one of my CFW females from the last clutch of chicks I had. Hopefully I'll get some BC CFW birds eventually!
