After getting my first societies (tomorrow), should I immediately put a nest in the cage or let them perch for awhile until they get used to each other and their new home?

Seeing as you are trying to get all girls, and that it is impossible to sex the societies visually, I would recommend waiting a bit to be sure that you don't have any males before you give them a nest. If one turns out to actually be a male, and you have given them a nest, they might get the wrong idea.

But after you have determined that they are all the same sex, a nest is harmless. You will probably want to put some bedding material inside to be sure that they don't get their feet stuck in it.

Societies will enjoy the nest... it's a nice place for them to be hidden until they are used to their new surroundings. And dont be surprised if they all hop into the one nest. Societies like to room with others, thus living up to their names, societies. lol.

I would not put a nest in their cage.
Even with all hens, a nest may trigger one or all of them to start laying eggs. The eggs are not fertile, but the hen has expended energy and body reserves to lay the eggs.

I have female societies that I plan to use for fostering.
They don't get a nest unless I have them fostering a chick.
Whenever I had a nest in their cage, they start laying eggs.
