Im wanting build a small one on my screened in porch.
Question one, is it okay to move finches from inside winter quarters(separate cages) to a bigger outdoor aviary in spring/summer/fall where they will all be together?

I was hoping to make it 6ft long, by 3ft tall, by 24 deep.On the East end of the porch for morning sun.
But we do have some rather interesting weather here.Storms, high winds etc in spring and hot and humid summers. But they will be on the covered porch.
Question two, should I make the last 18 or 24 inches completely closed in with just a small 3 inch hole or two to escape high winds or storms?

Im sure I will have more questions to come as my work progresses.
Thanks so much

What I have seen some people do is build like a wooden block type thing, half open, with some perches, and attatch it to the cage so they have a weather escape. And what species are you mixing?
