Hey guys, this is my quick sketch of my three part cage plan (outdoor). Cage on the left is for breeding a compatible finch with zebra, cages on middle and right are split for male and female to prevent unwanted breeding :)

Ask me any questions, give me any tips... Just so you know, I had a much longer post before, but my stupid PC shut down on me #-o I really need a new one

Hope you like it :)

Yay :) Dad said I should get rid of the cupboards, because they'll get destroyed outside :/ oh and there's gonna be a slanted roof on top :)

Hi Joni, looks to be a good start. Question what type of roofing will be placed on it. Di you have plans for closing off the front so no cold winds or rain can enter through during the winter periods. Do you have access to electricity for extra lighting or heating if required. What are you using for flooring.

I will be using either stainless steel, or the metal that's used for tool sheds? The winds from the front are blocked by the house, and winds from the back are blocked by the fence...there is also going to be something like what I'm about to attempt to text draw in each cage apart from the breeding cage...

I hope that worked lol

Electricity will be easily accessed, and I plan to have a light in each cage at the corner... For flooring, I decided that I will go for a double pullout tray, which will basically mean that I don't need to rush to get the tray refilled... The substrate will probably be kitty litter :)

Have fun!

I recently finished (well, it's not likely to ever be fully finished!) my room.

- draw it many, many, many times
- draw it on graph paper
- plan your doors
- plan your removable walls

I considered: lighting (removable), fans, heating, wall covering, custom cages, cage rollers, plug ins, lighting type... perches, feed cups, rolling stuff in and out, making sure the cages went down the stairs, making sure the cages went in and out of the room... shortage of nest boxes and special food cups... I aimed to use as little wood as possible. Think cleaning. Think about feeding time. Think about catching the birds (I'm getting better at anticpating them and having them fly into my hand). Think door size (mine are 4"x6" and I wouldn't go smaller than that).

Draw it and draw it and draw it. Think dollars. Think sense! Then blue print it and draw it again!

Have fun!
