Building plans-AVIARY

It is going to be a LONG time before i can finally start my aviary. but i am starting my plans! and i need your help!
Right now i am making a small indoor aviary for my finches, of course, i only have two(once Tahny gets her boyfriend and goes home) so this thing is HUGE for them!
I want to use all natural perches and maybe a few small perches that are colorful, and a mirror(small one, Lux likes mirrors, he cuddles with them!!)

I want to paint the background white and maybe on the front of the outside some flowers and such, maybe leaves to make it look pretty. It will have a door on the front but no antechamber because they get free flight in my room so there would be no point, the door is to open so they can fly as they please. there will be one 1ft door on each side of the aviary and it will be ellevated by three Ikea lack tables :)
I need your help! I need as many tips from as many people as possible as this is my first time and i am VERY excited. there was a link on my other post about a walk in aviary, i am making that one for the cockatiels and the third thing on my list is an awesome house for my sister's rabbit.

Have you considered Wallees, those stick on type decorations.Ive seen some outstanding ones on Ebay that Ive been considering for the back wall of my aviary.Might help make people look at the pretty deco and birds rather then my uneven lame aviary :D

The cool thing about the stick on plants and such is you can change them with the seasons.

Sounds exciting Kaite! my tip is - definitely put some designs or patterns on the walls- solid colors will look gross fast once a bit of poop gets on them! camouflage!

Also, think about what you'll do for the floor, and make sure it will be something easy for you to get to and clean.

Hhmmm, maybe make the floor solid enough to support your weight - with that size, and only one front door, you may have to crawl inside if something ever needs doing farther than you can reach from a door. if you plann on a sliding tray for a floor, consider some extra doors so you can comfortably reach every part of the aviary. just because you can stick your arm in doesn't mean you could actually do anything at that reach, like replacing a perch or toy. also think about how you would separate/catch a single bird if someone got ill or injured.

i also thought maybe the whole back could be taken off or the top could hinge open,i still want to allow free flight

why not make the whole front part open? you could hold it closed with a lock or something
