Update on my New Bird Room

Post by managermania » Wed Jun 06, 2012 9:46 pm

Here is a quick pic of the new bird room in progress. It's still kind of a mess. The goal was to go to bigger mixed flights and cut back on the cages. It is already making it easier for changing seed and waterers. It was built to be practical and breed birds in a mixed setting and not so much for it's good looks. 2 more big flights are still being assembled.

Chase, how wonderful! that looks great so far! =D>

out of curiosity, is that being built in your basement?

I'm sure the birds are loving all the extra space!

It is in one of the rooms in my basement. Another thing that I like so far is that I will use a lot less individual lights.

looks awesome, hubby gonna do something in the basement for me this summer. I showed it to him and it has peaked his interest. I think it looks really nice!! Are you still gonna have some breeding cages? I want a combination of a couple big flights with removable divider so I can make 4 if need. And then have 12 30" flights some with dividers. I have most of the cages, need to build the flights, our basement not finished and the ceiling has been what I could not think of what to do...I like the plastic! We have discussed framing out the area simply and the clear plastic for the walls as well, then screen door going in. Your birds are very happy I am sure!!

I love the look of it, I don't think you need to change a thing!!! Well, there could be a few more cages and aviaries

I think what you've done looks great!!! One question, are you gonna do anything to the ceiling? Because as far as looks go, it looks pretty bad with the roof, the rest is great :D

Oh, and if you want to have a stylish room, I'd say go for similar coloured furniture to the wood you used to build the aviaries :)

Love it chase =D> =D>
My dream would be to have a set-up quite similar to that, along with a smaller closet sort of space for hospital cages. That way those not feeling 100% can be placed away from the excitement. The reasoning behind the closet sort of space would be to make it slightly easier to retain the heat. (Not sure if I'm making any sense #-o )
