refurbished cabinet aviary with mixed finches
Hi there, iam posting this to share with fellow finches lovers. I purchased a second hand tv cabinet for next too nothing and refinished it to provide my finches a bigger home. I also like having to clean only one finch cage now! I have only added MALE finches, 4 different coloured zebras, and my favourite, my two shaft tails. All get along wonderfully, although i notice that even with males they bond with one other male, so for this reason have an even number. I had females in the past, and find the nests, and added poops from the babies to be quite messy, and i wanted to avoid that this time. Also, i always felt horrible having to rehome the babies, worrying if the new owners were providing them a good, healthy forever home. Enjoy, the pics, let me know your thoughts on my set up. Could use a bit better lighting.

Okay, my apologies!! I am having difficulty with my computer, and have been trying unsuccessfully now on my tablet to get these pics posted. Silly compressed mobile device! I will get back to it tomorrow hopefully with success as I have to get to bed for work in the morning. Sorry for the wait, please check back soon, I am excited to share my pics with all of you finch lovers.

I have four male birds - two star finches, one Zebbie and a canary - a batchelor group because I've had repeated issues with eggbinding in females (they make great pets otherwise) but they're all in separate cages. Even with different species, it really is, 'birds of a feather flock together'
