Quick question concerning outdoor limbs for perches.

Hi. I've read many posts of people using limbs from outdoors for their perches. My cages are all indoors..too cold for outdoor stuff here. I've also read posts that tell me I must be very careful that there is no disease on these limbs..should I bring them indoors.

My Question: what should I be looking for, Will these diseases be obvious? What do people do when they bring in branches off outdoor trees to make them safe. I have ash, willow and birch in my back yard.

I've read that these natural tree branches are good for finch feet so really would like to use them.

Natural perche's are great for bird's with the varying width's of branch'es exercising their feet/toe's . If you do decide to use these give them a good scrub with dilute detergent , dry them well and they're ready for use :-BD

I soak the branches in a diluted solution of bleach and water for 15 minutes, scrub, rinse well and sun dry completely.
