Housing for Zebra finches (2 boys)

I would like to get (eventually) two male Zebra finches as my last one died recently.

I've researched some cages and found a few large flight cages that are divided down the middle. Can someone please advise whether this would enable them to be close to eachother (and not lonely) but does it work out practically?

Just curious: why would you want to divide them? Why not together in one large flight cage?

I recommend the divided cages.
Because, if they start fighting, you need to separate them.
They may not like not being able to be with each other, but if they are going to fight...TOO BAD, they get separated.
Also when you need to catch them, it is a lot easier in a smaller volume, after you divide the cage.

If these are the only zebra's that you will have I dont expect they'll fight much . Maybe the dominant male might exert his authority over the other B-( if there's no hen's to be seen or heard it should help the cage harmony .
When you purchase your bird's sibling's should in theory get along , ie 2 brother's should be comfortable with each other's company
A roomy cage would be most helpful to the bird's too , if there's any trouble one can escape the other's agression #-o
Hope this help's .

I wanted to get two males as my previous Zebbie, Meep Meep had the company of a canary, and two Star finches (all males, separate cages) but still seemed to be lonely. I'm aware that Batchelors tend to fight, and have always had my males separate. I don't want eggs, which is why I want to eventually get two boys (Hens make great pets, but they tend to get egg bound!). Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll keep these in mind

With my birds I also do free fly them together, so if i had some males, they would be together from time to time. The only one i keep separate is my large male canary, who is quite aggressive and attacks other birds, especially in Spring!

i have two male zebs that live together with an elderly male gouldian and a male canary. the zebs get along very well :) sometimes they squabble a bit, but its just on days when one of them is a bit grumpy  overall, they do very well together, and seem to enjoy each other's company.
