Re-arranging my flights...

Hello all...I'm thinking about removing my 4 society finches from their flight. They are with 2 zebra pairs currently, but my 3rd zebra pair is ready to leave the breeding cage and move back into the flight. So, I was thinking of getting a 30Wx18Dx18H cage to stack on the top of the zebra flight. Is this too small for 4 societies? Thanks, Ginene

I have a flight that size for 2 Zebs... I think it would be too small for 4 Society's

Thanks Will....I was thinking the same thing, but had heard societies don't need lots of room as they are couch potatoes. I will keep trying to find the best arrangement for my guys. Just don't have the space for another large flight...maybe a 2nd 30x18x18...Just hate to separate the 4 societies....they're like the 4 musketeers

If you can find the room, you can always join the two to make one long (or double wide) flight for all four.
Personally, I wouldn't think a single cage would be to small for four societies - they all huddle together no matter how big the cage is, they don't stake out territories like many other species, and they still have the same amount of flying room (30") whether there are two or four birds in there. You could always try it out and see whether they have any problems.

You are right...They never venture to the bottom area of my current flight. The zebras are the adventurous ones, that cover every inch of the flight. I think I'm gonna give it a shot and keep an eye on everyone. Thanks
