I made a little video about how my naturalistic outdoor finch aviary is coming along, and thought you guys might be interested to see it. It has quite a few tips for those who'd like to create a natural looking aviary: http://youtu.be/amktKfqcolg
Stephanie, just watched your video of your aviary and all I can say is
wow! You are so lucky to live where you can have an outdoor aviary
I can't have one cause it gets way to cold here in winter. I would have
a big comfortable chair just so i could spend hours watching them.....
I do have a 6ft flight cage inside with a similar mix of finches as you.
I love them love watching them....
I can dream of someday having a big walkin aviary.......sigh!!!!
That's a really nice video, and I'm jealous of your being able to view your birds so easily.
I'd love to keep my birds in conditions like that with everything open and viewable.
Unfortunately in the UK most of the year the birds are hidden from easy view under cover from our lousy weather.I do enjoy the spring and summer when I can open my extension flights and view my birds from the house. But even then I keep all the nestboxes and food sources inside undercover.
PoohBear I love yours too. You've done a grand job with your big Winter-Summer aviary. Is that a Clematis vine? Very pretty. I keep trying to grow those but the climate here is a smidge warm for them and it takes a while for them to get going.
