Flight Cage too small?????

I'm getting 2 Society finches. The cage I have available is 30x18x18. Is this sufficient or too small? I would like to take them outside with me during nice weather.
I don't have windows for them to view the world from inside and hate that if I went bigger, they wouldn't be able to enjoy the outdoors.
Thanks, Kristy

That cage is perfect for 2 society finches

. I have 3 cages that size. 2 of them each house 3 zebras. I had to separate my 3 males from my 3 females because the girls were constantly laying eggs

. I felt bad putting them into such small cages, but they are happy and healthier this way...thank God

Cage is fine for two birds. If you're going to take them outside with you, be sure the cage is SECURE. Doors, bottom, etc. Just in case it might be knocked over (

neighbor dog or cat, child, etc.) make sure the cage will hold them "no matter what". Have fun

I'm sure your birds will love it

That is the size of my flight cages! One houses two spices and one houses two zebras. Just a note: I had an awful experience taking these cages outside when my former society escaped! I was trying to clean the cage (it is less messy to clean outside; I think from now on I will use the bathtub--I feel stupid for not thinking of it before) and my society coriander slipped right below my hands. But I have left the cages outside otherwise while just checking on them from time to time and they have been fine. Those cages are still rather bulky and difficult to carry! Good luck

zipzapzipperzoom Sounds like the Petco finch flight cage? I have two and they are nice for two or four. I carry mine around fairly easily and I agree with Dolly, zip tie the seams together, I found these cages are a bit flimsy around they seams.
Congrats on your decision to get the Societies! I can't wait to see your pics of your new birds and your set up!

Definitely add zip ties to all edges and corners to stiffen up the cage. Makes it much sturdier even just for inside.
Then lock the doors with twist ties or some kind of clip before taking outside. If it falls, blows over, or something like cat, dog, or hawk notices the cage, you want to be sure it can handle the poking and bashing without letting anyone out or in.
It's a perfect size cage for a few finches.

The Puffy Dance and bath time are the highlights of the day in my bird room. Societies rock! Although, I have to admit that my male Cut Throat does a mean Puffy Dance and my male Goulds do a hysterical jumping/hopping dance too!!! I just cant get enough of all of my guys. They crack me up
