Finally moved them.

Post by chirpy » Sat Aug 17, 2013 1:01 pm

I finally moved them all to the F040!

I am VERY happy... BUT more happy I was able to throw away the BIO HAZARDOUS Poopy Nest! =)) thankfully there were also no eggs in there to so my ittybitty heart didn't break while throwing the nest out!
The babies were easy to catch, lol "oh its a hand.. (grab) Eep!" the MOM was the hardest.. shes so big yet shes swift!

here are some pictures :)

I still need to do some tweaking and adding more things

FLY! FLY!.................... maybe later

Ginene Thank you!!! (in so many ways!)
Ive NO CLUE who is what sex yet.. but Rocksteady is singing up a storm today he must be very happy.
They just had a bath all together lol SO CUTE.

They are now getting fed... it seems like only dad is doing it (70% dad 30% mom)
hopefully when their wing muscles develop a bit more they will make full use. they are still pretty much grouped together ;)

FLY!!!

I think the universe heard that these could be your only chicks and gave you some splendid ones to make up for it. John is a heart throb - I love the ones with the dusky color breasts. Benjamin may just be starting early on establishing the pecking order. As they get older, especially any male chicks, be prepared for some pushing and squabbling. But it passes and they will all settle down into sensible grownups.

I sure they love their new bigger cage. Being in a new cage that has no nest from the start may be easier for them than having it just disappear. When I tried to take my guys' nests out and make them do without they were in complete withdrawal and so miserable (and bad tempered) that after a few days I caved and gave them back.

The fun of babyhood is over, but now you can enjoy really watching their interactions.

Nerien Thank you & they must!! Benjamin is pecking at the others a real bully!!! but its not that bad.. just not very nice as the others (who cuddle up and leave him alone - like in the pic lol)

@dcompt Thank you! John and his dusty breasts right :D I love it too, that is the only way to tell John and Benjamin apart from the dusty breast and maybe the white on the wings but the breast is easier. So perhaps Benjamin is a boy.
I agree, I wasn't sure if I should take the nest out wait a bit to put them in, or just BAM put them in there. They kept going back tot he mini perch to feed though lol it was funny - while I was setting the perches in the bigger cage. They seem happy though, suprisingly.. THEY ARE ON THE MULTI COLORED ROPE PERCH! though I did cheat a bit, I made the millet hang very close to it so they kind of had to hang on to the millet or perch on it to eat :)
I hope that I dont have to deal with drama... no sickness, no drama.. would be great! but thats what we all want.. :)

oh Benjamin!!! He sounds like he is going to be a handful! Good to hear they are using the rope perch :). Isn't it nice when they appreciate the toys we buy them?? Have you given any more thought to getting that platform you mentioned?

lyzzyjayne thank you!!! Remember my crazy insane mama drama LOL I have come a long way!

@musetta he better not be lol. He better not be ones of those guys lol that dice thing... Rocksteady and Roseanne loved it when I threw it in there when I got them. Not sure why. I took it out after they got a nest :)
I went back the other day and they were reorganizing the bird part of the store so I didn't bother them I will get it when I see it for sure :)
