This is really cute! There was another posting of this type of nest a few days ago. I'm glad it's popping up everywhere. I think it's a neat idea.

Love the idea as well!! In the wild a lot of the finches make rounded globe like nests....could this be an answer to making them happy and having nice clutches of babies for us??

Nanajennie yes I posted these pics on FB. I have OCWB's also and they have been checking the nest out as well may have to buy more of them.
Cindy we can only hope this type of nest will bring out their wild instincts.
I really like the way the nest look in the flight kinda natural.....

Brilliant idea ,
Probably best suited to a flight ,
Maybe even to stimulate some quiet/shy breeders
Have seen 2 wire hanging basket's used like this , quite large though but this option is just the job for the smaller finch type's
The small sisal type nest's are expensive if you're using them , this would certainly cut the cost's
Great post , regards , Mick .

I have been thinking about these all day
I am going to make some from willow, hazel and sally just to see how the bird's take to them , ill be sourcing these in the locality , hedge pruning's probably
Also saw a post last week of some guy using strip's of astroturf to disguise the front of his nestboxes , think he glued them on , another great idea
Regards , Mick .
