Societies and Zebras

Heya

Can my baby Zebras who are 3 weeks old and completely weaned go into the same cage as my 3 month old Societies?

They are currently still with mum in a nest but she keeps laying eggs. Dad was taken out when they fledged for plucking, so mum wont be going back with him as I don't need anymore babies right now.

If the cage is large enough it should be ok. The societies will be older and and larger, and should be able to hold their own against the fledglings, at least for the present. But will this leave mum completely alone? It seems that wouldn't make for a happy bird if it can be avoided, but then, I've never had zebras so can't speak from experience.

They can but I'd wait until they start getting their adult plumage. That way you can leave any females with mom so she has company. They should be coloring up by 6 weeks or so and mature at 12 weeks. If you have to remove them I'd keep them in a a cage next to or close to Mom so she isn't completely alone. Since both zebras and societies are social and do best when not singly housed. Also you might want to wait and see if any of your societies sing or not as zebras and societies can interbreed.
