No-mess feeder for cages... Anything that works for finches?

Hello

I'm looking for a cage seed feeder which is genuinely a no-mess design. I need all those husks and flicked seed caught, rather than spread all around the cage in a gross mess. Is there any such product that truly does its job?

Ideally it should also be easy to keep topped up. Trough style feeders can appear full when really the top inch is all husk, which is a risky and wasteful way to feed.

I'm willing to buy from anywhere in the world if I can find a really good design!

Thanks :)

Look for the Seed Hopper with catch tray. It's the best and what you're looking for.

I use these seed hoppers, fourth column, sixth picture down. The hull drawer does fill up before the hopper is empty, but it is easy to empty the hull drawer. If you let the hull drawer become overflowing, you will have hulls in your cage, and this seed hopper doesn't eliminate all mess, but it does help keep it down to a manageable level. They are particularly easy to fill/empty if you can hang them on the outside of the cage. Most of my cages require that I hang them on the inside, but they still help keep down the mess.

Do a search for these in Australia.

I have two seed hoppers with catch tray below them. They are the only ones I have bought that actually work

Have not figured out how to post a picture on this site. So I will load it up on my Facebook page. Just look for Fred's Finches

You've reminded me that I have an old half broken one of these somewhere. I will go and rummage for it...

Then I really must get a new one. I like the double-wide version. It would be great if the catch tray were larger though, as I recall it filling up much too quickly.

I also once saw a cool acrylic feeder for cages. It had walls to prevent seed-pinging. I recall that a parrot was modelling it, but can't find the product anywhere now...

Stephanie That's called a Tidy Seed and I have quite a few & love them to bits. They fit outside the cage in a door.
