Furnishing a large flight

Any tips for furnishing a large flight for waxbills? I just finished building a "screen door" flight and am working out the arrangements. The big "blank slate" is kind of overwhelming!
I have one end wall of pegboard, and the other walls are plastic mesh that won't support anything, and the top is hardware cloth over a wooden frame.
At one end there is a small door with a shelf for feeding, and two larger doors below. I currently have paper on the floor - we'll see how that works out.
I would like to add real (disposable) plants, but don't want to have to enter the flight to tend to them so they may be relegated to the outside or on the inside within reach of the larger service doors. I plan to hang silk vines and maybe branches from the top.
Any suggestions to cover the pegboard wall? Branches, reeds, grass?
Anything I've likely forgotten? 8-[

For the pegboard wall, go to a thrift store & pick up one or two straw roll up beach mats. They're at least 5' long, and usually don't cost much at all.

Candace who posted under CandoAviary I believe did some fabulous things in her aviaries. You might do a search under her name or the "Crazy Bird House" to get some neat ideas for furnishing your new flight. :)
