Didn't really think about it until now. Does Harley need spectrum lighting? When we bought him, nothing was ever mentioned of this. Now in reading lighting finches need, I'm work
Made ring if Harley needs it too. Is this a must for finches? I am not keen on leaving a light on during day while no one is home, and light bil, must be high as well!

If there is no window in the room I would consider adding supplemental light in the room, otherwise he should be fine.

Yes, there is a window. But isn't it true that he would need the spectrum for full benefits. I have read they can become lethargic, and skin, feathers etc. can suffer. He does have a window in the room, but with it being winter he I not placed next to it. But it does allow enough light for the room to be well lit.

I posted several articles about full spectrum in your other post "I want more"

Hope one of those explains things better for you

What would the wattage be for finch cage for full spectrum lighting and how long? I have read different wattage, and time allotments such as 40 minutes a day, to 12 hours a day. I have read it differs from species to species, bird to bird, and to check with my specific species care requirements. Not very clear. It's funny though, but when I bought Harley from a breeder here locally, she never mentioned to me full spectrum lighting for him. That's odd.
