Help on a good water bottle salvic or Lixit water bottle

Post by anne22 » Tue Apr 08, 2014 9:12 pm

I have two new salvic brand finch water bottles. they are the type with the wire like the Water Buddy brand, that the birds juggle with their beaks to release water. The Salvic brands wire is so stiff that it takes me a long time to get the water to come out. My birds never manage to work them. Any idea on a way to lesson the stiffness on how these work? I had been using the Water Buddy bottles for years and loved them. They are getting old and a couple leak now. I replaced the o rings but that did not fix the leak. I just bought a new ball end type Lixit for birds, of water bottle to try, and it seems to slowly drip so far. Anyone use this type and is there a trick to it? Any help on these or another good water bottle will be appreciated. Thanks!

Did they stop making the Water Buddy? I have some, but with the smaller waxbills, I had some birds that couldn't seem to use them, so I went back to water tubes.

Sorry, I always found the bottles to leak so, I use water tubes too and some dishes of water for baths.

I use Lixit waters and never had a problem with them leaking.
