I got my flight cage now, 30W x 18D x 38H. Someone needs to rehome 3 male Zebras that have been housed together.. It has been suggested that 4 Zebras is not a good idea, but how about the 3 bachelors? What are the chances they will pick on each other in their new digs?
Or should I just get a bonded male pair ? Really do not want babies...
Thanks for the help,
Barb

Re: 3 Zebra Finches
The flight sounds like a good size for the 3...often though 2 will bond and the third one may be the odd man out. Watch for signs of aggression or chasing. Provide them with a couple extra feed cups in different locations. An extra swing and a few perches at the same height up top.
If you get a pair and do not want young do not put a nest in the cage.

I would go with four or six and lots of fake greenery so that they can have some privacy and get away from each other when and if they need some alone time

Re: 3 Zebra Finches
Hello Barb,
I have three birds (see below) - all male. I keep them in three separate cages. Kevin, my Canary, and Beaky my Zebrafinch get on really well. Merl, my star finch is the odd man out, and he tries to pick on Kevin, my canary, with predictable results (ie he gets NO WHERE fast). Beaky has tried being friendly to Merl, but he also gets the pointy side of Merl's beak. Merl is a small fry with a big ego who always causes trouble.
I would keep them in pairs, or separate cages.
Good luck,
Zebrafincher
