You all have been wonderful with your cage suggestions! I have it narrowed down to two.
I now have five Societies. Was only planning on four, but after buying two at the store, it would have left one lone society, and I could not leave it.

So now I have five total, and I am pretty sure I have one male and four females. I have only seen one fluff up and sing. Now that you know what I have, I cannot decide between two cages.
First one.........

Second one........

I need to decide very soon to get my flock in a bigger cage. Thank you very much!!

Congrats!!!!!!!!! Im so glad you got more societies! Keep on looking for the puffy dances, because they dont always come out right away, especially since they are new to their environment. I like the first cage better. get some new perches though. it easily fits 4 so an extra shouldnt be a problem.

You will love the societies. Great choice

They are silly little finches with awesome personalities.

I have the first cage in extra large for my Lineolated Parakeets, and the only thing I woild not like about it for finches are the large doors. You have to open them up to get in and place food and water, and that could lead to escaped birds. For me that would not be good. Cats and dogs and three parrots. Beyond that it's a nice large cage with plenty of room for flight. We had to bend some of the sections back into shape while putting it together, and the latches on the doors leave something to be desired. I think they are cheesy. But it's a lot of cage for the money if you can put up with those things.
I like the quality and layout of doors of the second cage better, but you don't get as much space. The good thing about it, though, is if (when) you expand your flock, you can stack them. Something to consider.

So the first, larger cage does not have separate, smaller openings to put in food and water?? That is not very good.

Also......on the first, bugger cage....can it be removed from the stand and used without it?
Thanks!

I have this first large cage. It has two smaller doors on each side. Its stand can not be removed. I do not like this cage because my finches use only top half of the cage as the prefer to fly horizontally, bottom half is useless. Also its bottom tray is very low which makes it kind of hard to clean as you have to bend. Out of these two cages, I would prefer to buy the 2nd cage.

Not being able to remove the stand is a problem for me. The second, smaller cage also comes with a model that does not have a stand.
Will that be big enough for my five societies? And like was mentioned before, if I want to add to my flock, I can stack them.

I should clarify......the bigger cage with the stand will need to sit on the floor. If I do that, my dog will be easily able to get to it. Not a good thing right now. That's why I was wondering if the stand was removable. Does not sound like it is.

The "stand" on the first one is integrated with the cage and is part of the frame of the cage itself.
And I might add that the doors on the sides are only spring loaded. They do not latch, which, for finches is not such a big deal. They are meant to be the openings where you hang breeder boxes onto, not as a food dish door. I suppose you could try that. Or you could stick your hand through one to reach in to hang a feed cup onto the inside that way as opposed to opening the big front door.

Hi.
If you want a really super flight cage, check out the Prevue Hendryx F030 Flight Aviary. If you have room for it, it is wonderful. Attractive, not too low, has wheels that make it easy to move, lots of doors on all sides, lots of room for flight, removable tray for easy cleaning.
I picked it up second hand for $120.00 a while ago and both me and birds love it.
Of the two choices you listed... I would probably go with first one because it offers more flight room (which is desirable). The second one appears too small for five birds.
