The Great 2014 Bird Rearrangement

Today's the day, I think.....the Great 2014 Bird Rearrangement!
I've been meaning to do this for a couple weeks now. It will involve relocating all but 5 birds (2 gouldians and their 3 babies.)
I'm SO not looking forward to this!
It needs to be done, though. I have finches in cages that are better suited to parakeets; parakeets in cages that aren't suitable for anyone due to small size, and so on and so forth.
I also have a cage with odd poop deposits on the plastic base that just won't come off (despite daily cleanings....honestly not sure how they got there in the first place!) So I'm thinking I'll need to take an orbital sander to get it off! And obviously, you can't do that with them in there.
Any better ideas for getting that poop off? It's the same type of poop deposits you can see on plastic perches. (It's not actual poop; it's some sort of film that's left behind by the poop.)
It's going to make for a bunch of very hissy pissy birds for a few days, since nobody likes being moved. And they'll need to forego free fly for at least a couple days to get settled in the new home (otherwise, they just rearrange themselves into the prior arrangement.)
