I have a new female canary. Currently with the male canary in a separate cage. I would like to put her in my large finch cage with my finches. So he will start singing again
My concern is that she eats canary seed, and the finches eat finch seed. So if any of you out there have a canary with finches in the same cage. Will she start eating finch food or how do you solve the fact of situation.

I offer both finch seed and canary seed.

I don't actually see either sort of bird eat more or less of either - all of them enjoy both - but at least they're getting all available nutrition that way. My finches love canary grass seed and my canaries love the millet which makes up a higher proportion of finch seed mix, but the canaries are the only ones who will eat the black, oily seeds in their mix, which are important for them.

Temporary moved female to cage and male didn't like it at all. The female stayed right next to him in the other cage. Shes back home with hubby...
