Phase 1 of 3 almost done

Like some of you know, my neighbours behind my house, reported me to the local authorities. My aviaries were attached to the boundary wall, according to local law, aviaries must be at least 1.5 meters away from boundaries. I moved the one aviary and will move the first lot of birds to their new abode. The 2nd aviary, I will move as soon as the breeding birds has raised their young. The glass aviary, I will only move only once winter is on its way. I had to excavate about 3 cubic meters of earth to level the aviary. Here are some pic's. My Jack Russell's took the opportunity to go inside the new aviary, as I only allow them inside the aviaries when there are no young birds.

I don't envy you that job, but it will be great when it is finished!

Thank you for sharing....hope it turns out to be a little easier as you move forward....maybe this will give you the opportunity to make some changes to your aviary that you've been wanting to do?!?!? So sad this had to happen but it looks like you are making the best of it. Best of luck!

Gosh that is a mission. Such a pity you had to for silly squabble. see what you mean about lost protection of back wall, not to mention wasted space between aviary and wall. Perhaps a planted garden behind will offer protection and the illusion of your aviary being planted?

I hope it doesn't happen to me, the gap between my cages and the wall is only about half a meter in some cases smaller. To make it worse I have concrete bases, plus the protection one loses.

Hope it all works out for you.

Regards
Steve

Looking good! Think of it as a great opportunity for a bit of spring cleaning and rearranging. It's still a hell of a task though and I don't envy you one bit!

What a job!
I'm glad to see that you have your four legged assistants on the job. JR's like to supervise always :-D.

I agree, that some trees, bushes and shrubs behind would offer protection and shelter to the back of the whole thing. Some nice thorny flowered climbers against the wall might be extremely decorative and functional as well. :-D

P.S. I hope it all comes together for you, and looks even better than it did before.

Crown of Thorns plant, is very pretty, and grows into a sizable shrub.
