I live in an apartment. I so wish I could have an aviary! Anyway, I have two zebra finches in a squarish cage and it's 2 x 2 x 2. Is this okay

Welcome to the forum!
I have kept Society's in a 20 or 21 inch wide cage, but it is crowded with two finches. Since zebras can be aggressive, I'd get a 30 in Petco flight cage, which a low cost cage. That way you can put two perches, a swing, greenery etc. Then, they are less likely to fight. Good Luck!

I agree with Deborah.
The recommended (minimum) for two finches is, w30/d18/h18inches. That will give them some room to fly from side to side, which is what finches need . If you have the room, and can afford it, bigger is always better.
Good luck.

I have kept and bred zebrafinches succesfully for years in 14 inch ages. Only one pair per cage no more! We European birdkeepers tend to be short on space so we tend to give a little bit less space. But we still have excellent results!

30" L X 18" W X 18" H Petco flight cage is a very good option for two finches.

24 x 24 x 24 is fine for zebras. The added height and diameter compared to the 30 x 18 should make up for 6 inches lost width.

That's what I'm hoping. I'm just concerned because they are fighting all the time. You should have seen the cage that they had been in for the last 8 months before I got them! Way too small.

Are they a pair? or both of the same sex? Squabbles are normal between birds. They could live in an entire room and still squabble lol Just keep an eye out if the injure themselves! as that would signify things are getting serious in the fights

I have two males. I can't tell them apart so I can't tell if it's only one that is instigating the fight or not.

Squabbles are normal, zebras tend to be pushy birds. Don't worry to much
