I got a used HQ flight cage for $50.00! But......

The story goes like this:

A couple days ago I saw an older model HQ cage for sale on Craigslist for $65.00. I offered him $50.00 for the cage and he accepted it.....not too bad a deal since new ones are going for around $130.00 or more. I didn't need one just yet but...hey!....the price was right and it was in great condition!

Here is what it looks like but the finish is a whitish gray color--->Flight Cage

Yesterday I spent the afternoon taking it all apart and washing it up. I was going to just store it for now. Then I mentioned to my daughter that I got another flight cage and she mentioned she wanted to get one like that someday.....wellllll.......You know where this is going don't you? LOL!

I offered to give the cage to my daughter (who has 3 parakeets). She is so excited to get it and I guess I wasn't going to use it for a couple years anyway. Easy come....Easy go.....all in one Day...sigh! She will just have to owe me in Veterinarian services....hehe!

I will just keep looking on Craigslist....another one just might pop up!

You guys are SO lucky, Sally also got several used off of craigslist.
First you see very few HQ cages up here in Canada, and secondly, never used! There are a few HQ types for sale up here, at double the price!

Whinging is finished, congratulations on your find! Glad your daughter's budgies get a new big home!

I got a flight cage also thru craigs list. They wanted $65. for it and I got it for $50. I think I spend just as much time surfing craigs list as I do the finch forum. No not really, I spend more time on the finch forum. So much to read and look at. 8) :)

I have gotten most of my breeding cages and flight cages off craigslist. The only trouble is, you have to check it all the time, in order to catch the good deals. Recently, someone had 3 hexagon aviaries, 7' across and 7' tall, each one with a safety door area. They were not cheap, but they said they would sell them separately, and the mesh was 1/2"x1/2". I got all excited, but when they sent photos, turns out the mesh is more like 1"x1"--my Goldbreasts wouldn't even have to squeeze to get out of that size mesh.
