I`m sure there are some posts around like this but when i searched it at the forum as ``mixed flight`` it found 39 pages with the searched keywords and i am at 19 so far reading them all. I couldn`t find a thread that has a lot of posts or pictures.

This thread is to find out what people currently have as mixed species together. Also their routines to keep them healthy and happy.

We did a similar thread in my fish(tropheus species) ``Members tanks``and other visiting members learnt a lot if ``new in hobby`` or ``gave a lot of suggestions`` if experienced in the hobby.
Everyone writes some information and answers questions, this also helps others to know whom to ask later directly...

We are currently going thru a change and waiting for our custom ordered cages, i will answer the questions and upload lots of pictures myself when we get the cages and the new babies.

Ok...in my mixed flight (A&E Double Flight: Overall Height - Top to Bottom With Stand: -65. Overall Width - Side to Side: -64. Overall Depth - Front to Back: -21) , I currently have 2 Male Stars, 2 Male Goulds, 1 M/F Owl pair, 1 GS Hen, 1 BCCB Hen (8 birds total).

I did have my GS Pair in here for MONTHS without issues (minus the other GS hen, which is their offspring), but the male became too aggressive during breeding season (even though this is a NON BREEDING FLIGHT)...so I removed them. I am going to try a NEW arrangement in this flight this spring...1 GS Pair, 2 Male Goulds and 1 BCCB Pair. My Gould Males are the Alpha's of the flight and do not stand for bullying! SUPER IMPORTANT when considering housing with this GS Male. Also, my BCCB Male is quite aggressive too...However, the BCCB hen is NOT which is a big factor in this set up not being successful. I am going to try this, but carefully. And if it doesn't work, I will return it to the way it was. Safety is my key concern!

Shaft Tails do pretty well at holding their own...as well as Zebras and Cut Throats. I know you are trying to find a successful mixed housing arrangement for your GS too, unfortunately Nature sometimes has other plans. I have learned this lesson the hard way with 3 aggressive males...1 GS, 1 BCCB & 1 Society.

Indoor aviary;10 x 10 x 8 indoor room, approximate indoor dimensions.
Formerly was a small kitchen.
Zebra finches, society finches, spice finches, Java finches, budgerigars, canaries, cockatiel. Roughly 50 birds. All these species get along well with this much space.
Yes, breeding.
White millet, oats, red millet, canary seed, thistle, flax seed, Laferber's finch and canary pellets, Zupreem fruit blend budgie and small hookbill pellets.
Cuttlebone, basic sand grit, crushed eggshell, reptile calcium powder mixed into hard-boiled egg.
Water dishes and baths are all changed each morning. Multiple are available.
Plate of lettuce, spinach, broccoli, apple is offered on a daily basis along with one crumbled hard-boiled egg per day during breeding and every other day when not.
Nothing special during molting season.
Natural sunlight + cool white fluorescent lighting for evening viewing.
Both. Live potted trees and plastic floral strung on natural branches.
Room is always looking different; pictures of it during various stages in the last few months.
