It has been a month since this custom made project started. I had days and nights searching, reading here and there designing it and changing details again and again. Thanks to Josh from qualitycage.com
He is updating me with every single detail and being so kind every time i add something or change something.
Almost completed, few more additions tomorrow and they will send the cages to powder coating next week and hopefully ship them on the 3rd week and i will have them in Arizona at the end of this month.

Now what we have here is
60"x26"x30"H (two flight cages)
made of 1/2" x 1" wire
Each cage has two trays and removable grids inside the trays so i can either use them with the grids or take the grids out and put hay in the trays but i guess grids are safer to prevent them eat old food etc.
Each cage has 2x 9"x9" main doors, 2x 5wx4h front doors close to the bottom one on right and one on left hand side 2x 5wx4h side doors at the top, 2x 5wx4h side doors at the bottom close to the back wall
Also each cage has 2x flap doors at the front that closes the gap when you pull the trays out and prevents birds from escaping.
Solid cage divider that is designed different than any other cage, how i install is i pull the tray out put the divider in it and then flip it up and hang from the ceiling.

Hopefully this model will be the ultimate finch flight cage i was always dreaming of.

I am getting two but will use one since i decided to house green singers in another modified 36x20x22H cage so i will most likely sell the 2nd cage as soon as it arrives.

I need help deciding on powder coating color fast. I haven`t decided the powder coating color and i have until monday to decide. I know it is easier to see birds inside a black cage rather than white cage however we have white walls and probably will have white walls when we move to a new place aswell. We currently have 2x white cages and one black cage. Somehow when i look at the black cage my eyes hurt because of the white contrast behind the cages. Do any of you feel the same? What`s your choice in cage color or what would it be if you had white walls?

I will update this thread with new pictures once they are completed. Also a new thread when i design it and put birds in it :D

You can see how divider works here.
it first goes inside the tray, then flips and hangs from the ceiling.

I like the black cages, but white doesn't bother me either. If the black hurts your eyes when against a white wall, then I'd go with the white. I think color is more a personal choice than anything, and you need to be happy with it or you will regret your choice. I've only had the plain galvanized on any of my cages that are mesh rather than bars, so it's hard to imagine what they will look like when powder-coated a color. Your birds are going to love those cages!

metinemre have you ever thought about the sandstone color? My aunt Ginene has a double flight that color, and it looks really good.

metinemre I forgot to add that the only problem I see with the solid divider is that it can only be installed when the cage is empty. This is fine if you just want the option of using the cage as one or two cages, but if you want to put the divider in so it will be easier to catch birds, that would be too difficult to do.

Congratulations, your birds must be ecstatic.

Elana I paid around $250 for that (60x26x30h)cage. However if i asked for it again i would pay around $50 more for upgraded door latches. Current ones are ok but there is a better latch to make open/close easier.
Shipping cost was around $150 from Portland to Arizona aswell.
Cage is constructed very well exactly as i designed.

It has two trays grills in trays and flap doors at the front prevents birds from escaping when you remove the trays.

Birds probably couldn`t be happier :)

Smaller modified fc7 cage (36x20x22h)cost me $200 again i would pay $20 more for upgraded ez-latches.

I believe this company makes really awesome cages for affordable price especially when you compare the awesomeness of a custom made for your needs with the other cheap Chinese cages.
I picked 1/2" X 1" wire mesh, you can also order 1/2" X 1/2" for smaller birds.

Thanks for the info.
Do they just build custom cages as per order, or do they have ready made cages as well?

Sorry if I had missed it, but what is their website again. Just curious to see what they offer.
