I have been away from the forum for a while, but as I have recently brought home some new society finches (known as Bengalese mannikins here in Oz).
I have a trio and a pair which I have in large hanging cages out in the garden, but I have seen a fancy Indonesian cage for sale locally and wonder if it would really be suitable for another pair.
It's identical to this one used for zebras.
cage
It looks beautiful, but would birds be happy in it?

Not sure of the size but it looks like it could work for a pair. I don't think they would use the little tower areas so they would mostly be in the main part only. Not as practical as decorative but if that's the look your going for I'd give it a try.
good luck

A lot depends on the size. Personally, this type cage is beautiful but I would be intimidated by trying to keep it clean. lol

Hi.
In my opinion, these cages are good as decorations, but not really for birds. Birds need room to fly, which this cage does not offer.

Thanks folks.
I kind of thought it wouldn't be the best of ideas. Bit of a shame though.

Noticed that you are a plant lover
. You could always place a plant of some sort in this cage, and hang it up somewhere as an ornamental plant holder of sorts. Could be very attractive, with the plant growing through the bars.
Also, would love to see some pictures of your apricot Canaries.

I've done this in the past, and it can make a really great looking decoration. I've even set a fake bird in the plant, thought it looked kind of cool.lovezebs wrote: adamharbeck
