I wouldn't... Seems like it isnt sturdy enough to secure the nest in place. I feel eggs and babies could roll easily. Choose something more sturdy if possible

Now that you mention that I think the hole would be too low for when they build a nest..I don't think they could get in and out easily..I'll keep looking :?

Kelly yea i don't think that would work for nesting.. A regular hooded or canary nest is good!!

I'll keep searching..I'd like to find something I can use over and over and be able to give it a good cleaning that's attractive also.

This was kind of cool

There are plastic nest boxes or there that are easy to clean. Only problem is I think they are all small and wouldn't be large enough for birds the size of say gouldians.
I agree with the others those aren't really made for nesting in and wouldn't be stable enough.
Good luck in your search

I think it would be a very nice little nest, soft, comfortable, finches aren't picky.

Kelly

Hi Kelly.

I have used them for Societies, and actually had Gouldians lay eggs that went on to hatch, and were raised by the Societies.

These snuggy things come in a small and large, I used the large, and had an army of Socies in there.

If you're thinking of washing it after, think again. They are almost impossible to really get clean.

Something that I have used with success, are sturdy cardboard boxes (and I mean the thick cardboard, nothing flimsy) .

They are a one time use though.

Kelly it doesn't seem like the most comfortable one, but that's just my opinion

Kelly yeah it seems a little weird, I hope you find a good one..

I know you would like a cleanable one, but the canary nests are great, and are very cheap. My society finches are very comfortable in them.

I may just go with that. I would like to have some chicks sooner than later and like you said they are cheap so I can just get new ones.

Thank you much! :D
