I've tried twice to buy it on sale and I'm told they will not ship to my area
And you are sure you were on the Amazon.ca site and not the Amazon.com site? Did they say why they would not ship to you? The alternative is to get it shipped to the border, but there is still duty and exchange.
I did just purchase an
F040 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aj9OlUX3CP4 This video shows a close up. It is much sturdier than it looks in pictures. The husband works in Bellingham and he was able to bring it across piece by piece each day. He always declared it, but because it was only a fraction of the cage, he was not charged duty. Lucky me, they passed on the savings. I only paid $75. I was really lucky. This was just a week or two ago.
http://www.amazon.ca/Prevue-Pet-Product ... words=f040It's currently on sale for $218 & free shipping.
31" long, 20-1/2 " wide, 53 " with 1/2" wire spacing. I should add that there are no smaller doors in the big front doors and I do not really like that. I ended up covering the door area with a piece of fabric so I could catch the birds. The smaller doors on the side also had a weak/flimsy way of closing, but easily fixable for finches.
There is also a
F050.
37" long, 23 " wide and 60" with 1/2" wire spacing http://www.amazon.ca/Prevue-Hendryx-Pet ... words=f050 $315 & free shipping
The
F030 37" long, 27" wide, 68" high with 3/8" wire spacing.
http://www.amazon.ca/Prevue-Pet-Product ... words=f030 $295 & free shipping It is 4" wider than the F050 and possibly a little taller. The height stated - is it to the top of the walls or the top of the roof peak? It looks like there are small doors within the larger doors on this cage. Am I correct? Do the other doors close firmly? The reviews state the wite spacing is truly 3/8". I like the closer spacing. I have had some adult gold breasted waxbills escape. I am worried about babies also getting lose. I did add plastic mesh around the cages, but of course it would look better without it.
The only other flight cage I have bought used was this one last year. It's an HQ 32" x 21"
http://www.amazon.ca/HQ-Flight-Purpose- ... HQ+32+x+21 I paid $150 even though it was missing the bottom grate and I therefore have to seal up an opening. It was in fantastic shape however. Usually when I come across a cage like this, a lovebird or even larger parrot has been in it and a lot of the powder coating has been worn or chipped off because of their climbing or chewing of the bars. I can order a grate from Westcoast Tropical for about $50. I may do this or try to get something on line.
I am thinking we need to get a group together and order a number of cages together and try and get a better deal.
