Re: Just bought Prevue F040
To Prevue F040 owners, can you please recommend any external bird baths, seed hopper/feeder or nest boxes that fit its somewhat awkward side doors?
Thanks,
Luis

The Tidy Seed (or similar) feeders should work. You'd just need to mount it inside the cage instead of on a door.

I use the side-of-cage bird bath from PetSmart. "All Things Living" is their brand, the dimensions are 5.9 in L x 5.5 in W x 5.4 in H, so I would think anything similarly sized would work fine. My complaint is that the danged thing leaks like a sieve--I always have a towel under it, on the floor, to keep my floor from getting soaked. I've read reviews on plenty others and heard the same complaint, however, so now sure there's a better alternative.

I have one of these cages, but I don't use an external bath. I use this https://www.amazon.com/Lixit-Corporatio ... B000I6ORHS. My birds really love it, and it's easy to remove and clean since I attach it to the lower front door.
For water, I use these plastic ones someone recommended on the glamorous gouldian site. http://glamgouldians.com/shop-cage.php I believe it's called a livorno siphon, and it attaches to the outside of the cage for easy cleaning.
For food, I use a seed hopper I found on the same glam goudlian site. It can be mounted on the inside or outside, but for that cage, I mount it on the inside. There are several seed hoppers available, but I like the economy diamant seed hopper.
I actually have two seed hoppers and two waterers in that cage since I have more birds in there. It eliminates fighting.

Thanks, celeris, slwatson,
I use the same water tubes and the larger feed hopper and the same site. Still haven't found a bath I like.

Let me know if you do! I've found stuff online, but I hesitate to buy without seeing it in person, as I'm not sure what will work with the spring loaded doors.

Re: Just bought Prevue F040
I'm using the JW Pet Clean Water Silo, which has been great. You just have to make sure it's mounted straight and positioned correctly. If it's tilted it leaks.
I'm still in the market for an external bird bath for this cage too. The problem with finding one online is finding EXACT width and height measurements on the baths. A lot of reviews contradict each other. I had hoped that my JW Pet bath would be able to move from the old cage to the F040, but the rounded top leaves a gap.

Hope this feeder may help. I hang mine on outside so not to take up space inside cages.

Nest box from glam Gouldians. They also has hook options to allow for inside or outside mounting.

Hi Madcat, it's okay, I have a spare neck somewhere
I have the next box, fits nicely enough in the F040. I have that feeder on a different 30" cage with up-sliding small doors.

Just purchased a new bird bath that fits the Prevue F040 AND is a single piece, so no leaking! The Trixie Transparent Bird Bath is a bit larger than what I've used before and does just barely fit the opening, but I'm happy with it and the birds are, too. So happy to not have to keep a towel right under the bath any more!
