I have a pair of gopulds that have laid 3 eggs in one of my hanging nest but the male also fights over the other hanging nest. I have a bh/pb/gb male that is now messing up the nerst with eggs in it. I dont know if he is trying to father the eggs or not. He goes in the other pairs nest and keep pulling out a little nesting material at a time but he also keeps other goulds from entering the nest and he doesnt try to hurt the eggs. All the finches in the flight have nest that they have but sometimes go in to another nest that doesnt belong to them. Is this just normal behavior in a flight. Iam building a new flight that is gonna be 4 times the size of the one there in now which is 5 ft long, 3 ft tall, and 2 ft wide. The new one is gonna be 8 ft, long, 6 ft tall, and 2 ft wide.

If all your birds are in that one flight I'm afraid there will be problems with breeding...You need more space.

Im building the new flight this weekend and i think one cage is only gonna be gouldians. and the other flight will be for the smaller finches.

sounds like a very good idea. make sure with the gouldian cage that there is some sort of privacy between nests, even just a small branch with a few leaves on it would do.

The flight there in now has plenty of plants and privacy but i am building the new flight today and they are gonna be so happy in the new enclosure. I havent tooken any pics in a long time and need to before they move to the new flight so i will try to remember before that happens.

Well we got all the stuff for it today and since i work my father will be doing most of the building, lol. He is home for 2 weeks so he has plenty of time to work on it while i work mon- fri full time.
