Layout question ....

I have an old oak armiore that I'm going to turn the top 2/3 of it into an aviary, or cage. The bottom 1/3 will have doors & hold food, ect...
I want to know how I should arrange everything else. I have seen some cages where the branches, greenery & nests were all at the top 1/4 of the cage. I'd like it to visually take up more of the space. Although, I want to make sure that if they really prefer their nests to be at the highest point, then I accomodate them. LOL

I would place the nests at opposite ends and high up like you said. The feed and water should be located in a neutral zone. Place them so they're easily assessible to you from outside the cage.

The perches should be placed at various heights. I have two wide roosting perches high up, at either end of my avairy, but I don't have nests in those areas. And several mulity branched perches in the center near the seed hoppers. Don't place so many that they can just hop from perch to perch though. Make them fly... it's good for them.

If you place greenery in the cage I would suggest you do so only around the nests for privacy and limit it in the other areas as I think you will find it only gets covered in poop when placed lower.

Hope that helps. :)
