Oooh I hope so, but no idea who's paying for it :-??

I can maybe afford to make a tiny model out of toothpicks and plastic wrap, lol.

I just thought, that there are some folks out there who know how to build , and that these pictures, might inspire them to build one for their birds, and maybe one for mine (just for giving them the idea :wink: ).

I so wish that I had the skills and the $ to follow my heart, but alas it was not meant to be... :YMSIGH:

I think a trip to Home Dump to "learn how to build a shed" would sharpen anyone's skills and allow them to construct an aviary!

You know it really is not too hard to build your own aviary. I admit mine is pretty basic (16 feet long x 5 feet deep x 6 1/2 feet high) but I designed it and built it with my own hands and tools we had at home. It might not be as pretty as some of the ones in your photos but my birds have plenty of room to fly. So Elana, find some space, get a tape measure, a power saw, nails, screws, etc. and make your dream come true. You know you've always wanted one, don't you? I hope I am the enabler this time.

lovezebs - BTW, the one you posted at 7:44 am would be my favorite one esthetically. I would need to find a way to subdivide it to make it easier to catch birds or separate them when necessary. Also, I would like at least one side to be solid to shield them from extreme weather.

It took me a while to figure out which one it was, seeing as my time showed 8:44am, and I feel a bit slow this morning (-|

Honestly they are all beautiful and do-able.

I love your aviary by the way Iso, and the way it's set up with the chairs, the plants etc. I can just see you sitting out there, enjoying your feathered friends :D .

Reg building an Aviary: Space I have, tape measure, power saw, nails and screws and tools we have, but good weather regretably we don't have.

If I was to put up an Aviary, it would have to include Winter quarters, which would need to be insulated, heated, and weather proofed for down to -35c or even colder..... Sadly, this would become cost prohibitive very quickly, both the building, and the maintenance.

This is why I am considering and giving much thought to an indoor aviary (or rather a free flight bird room). There are two nice sized windows, which cover one wall, which makes me think of a flight addition to the outside of these windows for times when the weather allows outdoor time, but this is all still in the thinking stage (especially now with my stupid finger).

The big round aviary on the bottom is my favorite. Looks big enough to sit inside with the birds. :YMDAYDREAM:

@isobea

Your aviary is just beautiful! What a great place to sit, relax and enjoy the birdie antics!. :YMDAYDREAM:
