I used to have one of these. Sold it.
OK for small hook bills because they climb much of the time in preference to flying.
It can easily handle 6 finches BUT unless there is a compelling reason to get it I would recommend not buying it.
A cage that is wider than it is tall is optimal because the finches benefit more from flying horizontally than up and down.

In a non-breeding situation, I think 4-6 finches could fit, so long as they are not large. If you could put food and water dishes at the bottom half of the cage, more space will be utilized, allowing for less crowding. What species were you thinking of keeping?

I also agree that in a non-breeding situation and depending on whether the species is passive or aggressive, you could put 6 finches in that cage. A far better cage IMO is one of those double flights that is 62-64" long, 21 deep, and 35 high.
3 Purple Grenadiers, 1 Goldbreast + 1 cat.

Icearstorm I am planning on putting 2 society pairs in along with my zeebs. paul-inAZ The compelling reason for getting it is: I dont have space for a 5 foot long cage, but I do intend on free-flying them (In a safe room)

Both of those species tolerate smaller spaces more than other finches, so as long as no one gets aggressive, that cage should work.

Icearstorm She is in solitary confinement right now. She is so bad to hubby though... This is the second time, and hopefully the last.

Would adding a feather boa or feather duster to the enclosure give her something else to pick at? It might distract her from abusing her mate.
