Hiring a carpenter to build an aviary

Post by chargers17 » Wed Sep 27, 2017 3:43 pm

Hi Everyone,
I recently got a new job and my wife and I are moving to a larger house. As part of that we were looking at getting a new aviary that will look nice and also contain a bit of the mess our birds make (2 canaries and 2 goulds) I always loved the aviaries that Oak Creek makes (http://www.oakcreekaviaries.com/images/ ... iew_SS.jpg) but I was wondering if it would be cheaper to hire a carpenter to make it instead?

Does anyone have any experience with hiring people to build an indoor aviary?
Cheers,

Yer need to put yer location on yer profile / avatar as we've got no idea where you are IE what country, this may help if yer looking for a carpenter,

I'm a custom avairy, birdroom and cage builder from England and have just literally started to build an avairy for a local freind who's just started keeping budgies,

Take a look at me waxbill birdroom thread and it'll give yer an idea on the new birdroom that I've just built for me Australian finches and waxbills etc

well, nothing is cheaper then building yourself.
If you're handy go for it.
Lumber is cheap and there's all sort of thickness lumber for sale.
Use chicken wire for cheaper and easier work or..... if you cant and dont have those basic tools put an add on your local buy and sell website and get estimates. Im pretty sure wont cost that much anyways.
good luck
