Multiple Bird Quarantine Question
I am planning on picking up one bird from a breeder (well known to have happy, healthy birds) and one to three birds from a bird fair on the same date. How do I set up this quarantine? The bird fair birds will be in a separate room from my current birds. I don't want to risk the bird from the breeder catching anything from the bird fair birds but I also don't want him to be all alone in a separate room. Should I have him in a separate cage in the same room as my current birds or the bird fair birds? What do you think?

The bird fair birds definitely need quarantine, since you often don't know the history on them, or even know the vendors. The other bird, from a breeder you trust, could go in a separate cage in the quarantine room, but it will still be exposed to anything the bird fair birds could have, as some things can be transmitted in the air. Before I knew about quarantine, I just put birds together when I bought them--I've never had anything happen, but I may have just been lucky.

I currently have a pair of Zebra Finches from a guy who bought them from my "usual contact". This guy had them for about 2 weeks before he decided to give them away. I didn't know he bought them from my usual contact but he did not have any other birds.
Then about almost 3 weeks later I bought a pair of RCCB's and a female Fire Finch (together) direct from my usual contact. The Zebras are in my on-suite bathroom and the RCCB's and Fire Finches are in my bedroom.... about 20' apart from the Zebras and on a separate floor from my birdroom. They can hear each other and they can hear the parrots in the birdroom. When I shower I leave the door open to the bedroom so they can all benefit from the humidity.
Just try to keep them as far apart as you can but still letting them hear the others.
