I had this idea ...I bought one of those purple martin houses and put it together (pain) I mounted it on a wood closet rod and stuck it in an outdoor umbrella stand. The house has 12 compartments that are about 5" x 5". The sides with the holes in it are hinged so they swing up for easy cleaning....or peaking  (with a ladder of course.
I thought this might be interesting to put in the aviary. Don't know which birds will go in to use this highrise yet..It will be interesting to see who will be neighbors with who.......

wow.... I LOVE IT!!!!

I can see that you and I think alike. I love doing things like this in my aviary. So unique and fun. Post more pictures when the birds starting hanging around. I may have to copy you if it works.

Candace,

Did your birds ever use this house/nest?

That is a unique idea. :)

I have only 5 old canaries and 1 pair of weavers in this big ole aviary at the moment. The scarlet chested are all caged in there with breeding boxes getting fitted. The upstairs aviary is being finished and the new parrot finches are still in quarintine....so nobody has had a chance to use it yet.......and the Zebra Finches are not even going to get their chance at it  But I am sure with 12 rooms stuffed with cocofibers and the such...how will they be able to resist?
